Overview
At 300m3/h, the Turbo Tube TT100PROS is the most powerful 4 inch fan available, perfect for all domestic bathrooms. The extraction rate on on the Turbo Tube is almost three times that of the best surface mounted axial fan. It is also quiet and being installed in the loft above the bathroom, is totally hidden from view, the only visible part in the bathroom is a discrete flush mounted 4 inch circular grille.
Ducting an extractor fan to the outside world can be problematic. Indeed all wall mounted axial fans require the chopping of a four inch hole in your bathroom wall! Not so for the Turbo Tube, which is usually ducted to a convenient place in your soffit. Using 'mixed flow' technology, which combines the features of both axial and centrifugal impellers, it generates greater pressure and can thus cope with long duct runs of up to 10 metres without significant loss of power. This gives total flexibility in installation allowing you to site the fan in the optimum place for extracting, ducting, mounting and electrical connections.
It is also suitable for installations in which dust and grime can cause problems for other fans - such as commercial kitchens or workshops. The Turbo Tube, uniquely features a removable chassis - permitting easy maintenance and cleaning.

Installing the Turbo Tube Inline Duct Fan
You will need the following, all available from the accessories list below:
2 x Length of flexible aluminium ducting (sold by the metre)
1 x Internal back draught shutter
4 x Duct clamps
1 x Circular internal grille
1 x Fixed external grille - available in white, grey or brown
1 x Condensation trap (If the fan and duct are fitted vertically)
An inline fan is installed in the loft or ceiling void above the bathroom (or kitchen etc). Ducting is attached to each end of the fan with one length going to an internal grille in the ceiling of the bathroom and the other going to a grille on the external wall, soffit, or roof.
Duct clamps are used to connect the ducting to each end of the fan and to the spigot of each of the grilles. The back draught shutter may be installed anywhere in the exhaust ducting - that is to say, the ducting which runs from the fan to the outside grille, but is usually situated as near to the outside grille as possible. It's worth pointing out, that the backdraught shutter must be fitted the right way round!
Unlike a wall mounted fan that is installed in the bathroom; an inline fan sits out of sight, within the run of ducting in the loft or ceiling. This offers the following benefits:
- No coring through brickwork required, just a simple 4 inch hole in the ceiling that is covered by a discrete grille.
- It's easy to install - in the attic, ceiling void or loft space - there are no electrics for the fan in your bathroom at all.
- This means there is no making good to be done when the job is finished. No plastering, painting or re-tiling
The fan can be mounted anywhere along the duct run - wherever is most suitable for wiring connections and secure mounting. Ducting is then connected onto both ends of the fan, one for the input side and the other for the exhaust side, totalling your full duct run length.
To prevent air from coming back into the room via the duct run, an in-line backdraft shutter is fitted somewhere in the duct run. Either on the exhaust end of the fan, within the run of duct held in place by a duct clamp, or at the exterior grille for example.
Exit to outside requires a grille We recommend the Energy Saver No Resist Backdraft Grille - which prevents backdraughts without adding resistance to the ducting system. Internally, a grille is fitted on the ceiling. To ensure the ducting system is entirely air tight - which maximises the efficiency of the fan - we recommend the use of duct clamps when attaching the ducting to the spigots of the fan and grilles.
In summary, the Turbo Tube is not only the best inline duct fan, but in our expert opinion, it is the best all round fan available. If you have loft space above the bathroom and if your installation allows, the Turbo Tube inline fan is the best extraction solution. Also available in 'Timer' version.

David Wells Great powerful fan. The detachable mount made fitting easy in the loft, the entry exit connectors are detachable meaning you can get the duct on these and then clip into the mount, and wire up the body and mount that.
Lost a star and a frustrating hour fault finding as wiring diagram is incorrect on selecting high/med/low power. Once I remembered I'd set to Medium (incorrectly)and reverted to high it burst into life.

R Draycott Aptly named. I purchased two last year, they've been fitted and working since Sept/Oct 2025. One is for a small upstairs bathroom/toilet vented throught the ceiling to the fascia soffit. I've moved the jumper to extract on "low. " Even in cold weather it keeps the mirror clear while showering, and the entire bathroom is fully dry within ten minutes or so of wipng the shower down.
The second fan is to clear hot air out of the loft in summer with the aim of keeping the bedrooms cool enough for sleeping. The temperature has not been that hot so far this year, but based on experience with the bathroom fan, I'm reasonably confident it will work well leaving the jumper on "high."

Chris Chadwick Very happy with this, only minor gripe is the inability to adjust length of fan operation after the light is turned off.
The instructions refer to an adjuster on the PCB that you rotate to adjust between 3 & 30 minutes. However, mine just had markings on the PCB denoting “adjust + / -“ but the adjuster was removed. The fan switches off the same time as the light.
Not a major issue but either outdated manual or model change.

The fan is easy to fit. The vent hose attaches to the fan on detachable end mounts so clamp the hose to the mounts and simply slot the mounts in - don't have to wrangle hose and clamps to a screwed down fan in the loft.

This is the second one I have bought to replace failed Manrose and Xpelair models in my own home. Both of these 100mm Tornado units go straight in their place as the same body is used.
Yes, it is a few pounds more, but the performance is well worth it. And if it is a bit too much "suck" shall we say, it can be dialled down using a jumper connector to select any of the three speeds.
Delivery is great too, both have been next day. So your job is sorted quickly.

alan I've fitted this extractor fan in the loft and it connects to the light unit above the shower....a very powerful fan that keeps the bathroom clear of steam and condensation when the shower is in use. It's obviously not 'silent' but is very quiet considering the size and power of the unit....very pleased with this item and would recommend to anyone for extraction from a bathroom

Mark Lawrence I am registered JIB electrician. Have fitted many inline fans, many of them 100mm inline like this one with the same shape body. They are all 20 watts, but this is 24 watts, what a difference that 4 watts makes to the extraction rate of this fan unit, eg MR is 245 m3/hrs, VA is 255 m3/hrs, but this Tornado is 300 m3/hrs!
Just fitted this my own home to replace failed MR unit, what a difference! All of the 3 speeds are superior to the competition Don't hesitate, this one is far superior to the competition in all respects.

Karl O'Rourke This in line fan packs a punch, I replaced a vent axia 5'_x009d_ fan with this one and is more effective than the previous fan. Easy to fit as exactly like the vent axia, just reduced to 4'_x009d_ , so no problems there.
Asked lots of questions before buying and the guys have loads of knowledge which is great.
The price is great also, the vent axia fan was over £120 on offer and the tornado was £70 plus delivery!
I was worried that the reduction in size would not work as well, but I have to say it's great, slightly louder than before but I have changed to hard pipe to the outside rather than the flexi hose, so that may be the difference, having said that with the door closed you cannot hear it and it's wired via a two pole switch so no noise at night.
Great price, product and very helpful staff, what's not to like!
