Turbo Tube Pro 100 Inline Extractor Fan

In this video, we're going to have a look at the Turbo Tube Pro 100 inline extractor fan.

What is an inline fan?

Unlike a wall mounted fan that is installed in the bathroom; an inline fan sits out of sight, within the run of ducting in the loft or ceiling. This offers the following benefits:

· it can be ducted from directly above the shower or bath – extracting steam and moisture at source, before it has time to condense

· no coring through brickwork - which is a horrible job - is required, just a simple 4 inch hole in the ceiling that is covered by a discrete grille. ..((and the same in the soffit))

· it's easy to install - in the attic, ceiling void or loft space - there are no electrics for the fan in your bathroom at all

· this means there is no making good to be done when the job is finished. No plastering, painting or re-tiling

Let's take a look at the Turbo Tube:

· At 245m3/h, it's the most powerful 4 inch fan available. Indeed, this extraction rate is almost three times that of even the best surface mounted axial fans, which offer around 95m3/hr.

· Using mixed flow technology, it generates greater pressure and can thus cope with longer duct runs – up to 20 metres – without significant loss of power.

· Very quiet operation - only 32 decibels when running which is equivalent to somewhere in between a human whisper and a quiet library.

· Easy to clean, simply undo the clamps and remove the motor body from the duct completely

So how does it all fit into your ceiling?

· The fan can be mounted anywhere along the duct run - wherever is most suitable for wiring connections and secure mounting

· Ducting is then connected onto both ends of the fan, one for the input side and the other for the exhaust side, totalling your full duct run length.

· To combat air coming back into the room via the duct run, you will need to put an in-line backdraft shutter in the run somewhere – on the exhaust end of the fan, within the run of duct held in place by a duct clamp, or at the exterior grille for example.

· Exit to outside requires a grille – We recommend the Energy Saver No Resist Backdraft Grille. Which prevents backdraughts without adding resistance to the ducting system.

· To finish off, a grille on the ceiling. Several finishes are available to match you décor including white, chrome and satin nickel, and showerlight grilles in white and chrome are also available

· All held together with duct clamps at every connection point – these are essential for keeping the system air tight and maximising efficiency.
