New from Envirovent, the Silent 100 IT This variant of the already popular Silent 100 fan with overrun timer, adds a new intelligent feature. On initial activation, the fan pauses on a 50 second pre-delay before starting, allowing for quick visits to the bathroom without activating the unit. After this initial 50 seconds, the fan starts as normal and extracts as you would expect. However, the control for the timer allows for four different over-run modes.
There are three manual overrun timer settings for 5 minutes, 20 minutes and 30 minutes. However, this is where the IT unit differs from the standard timer fan. The fourth mode is an automatic timer which calculates how long the fan needs to continue to run after the fan is turned off based on how long the fan has been activated for.
The equation used is Tr Over 4 plus 2 - where Tr is the total running time that has passed from when the light switch was turned on to when it is turned off. This total time is divided by 4. The resulting time has an additional 2 minutes added to it. In this example the time between the switch being turned on and off is 6 minutes.
Therefore 6 divided by 4 is 1.5, add 2 is a total of 3.5minutes overrun. The fan will continue to run for this amount of time before switching off automatically up to a maximum of 30 minutes. This feature helps to maintain economic running times to reduce energy consumption making the Silent 100 IT an ideal choice for eco-friendly installations.
